Working on a Saturday wasn't that bad. I only took one escalation, but I did restore 47 or so phone lines. :) People need to learn to pay their bills.

My new favorite thing is Mint Cappucino from 7 eleven. It says "featuring double stuff oreos" so it's really mint chocolate. It's *awesome*. I only drink stuff like this when it's cold, but I hope it sticks around until spring so I can partake in it's mintyness until then.

I started playing There again as I'm sure you could tell by Evan's declaration on my tag-board. :) I need something to do this winter and if I have someone to talk to it's not a bad game. I just wish you could buy houses. I need me a house. :)

Well, off to the Dallas Stars game. Hope everyone had a good holiday!

This is why I don't go shopping on the day after Thanksgiving! You can bet that for $29 it was a crappy DVD player to boot. I find it kind of humorous that the lady collapsed on top of a DVD player - at least she protected what she was trying to get. And the store says they'll hold one for her until she's better. Hold on? They'd better give her at least 1 for free!

ORANGE CITY, Fla. - A mob of shoppers rushing for a sale on DVD players trampled the first woman in line and knocked her unconscious as they scrambled for the shelves at a Wal-Mart Supercenter.

Patricia VanLester had her eye on a $29 DVD player, but when the siren blared at 6 a.m. Friday announcing the start to the post-Thanksgiving sale, the 41-year-old was knocked to the ground by the frenzy of shoppers behind her.

"She got pushed down, and they walked over her like a herd of elephants," said VanLester's sister, Linda Ellzey. "I told them, `Stop stepping on my sister! She's on the ground!'"

Ellzey said some shoppers tried to help VanLester, and one employee helped Ellzey reach her sister, but most people just continued their rush for deals.

"All they cared about was a stupid DVD player," she said Saturday.

Paramedics called to the store found VanLester unconscious on top of a DVD player, surrounded by shoppers seemingly oblivious to her, said Mark O'Keefe, a spokesman for EVAC Ambulance.

She was flown to Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, where doctors told the family VanLester had a seizure after she was knocked down and would likely remain hospitalized through the weekend, Ellzey said. Hospital officials said Saturday they did not have any information on her condition.

"She's all black and blue," Ellzey said. "Patty doesn't remember anything. She still can't believe it all happened."

Ellzey said Wal-Mart officials called later Friday to ask about her sister, and the store apologized and offered to put a DVD player on hold for her.

Wal-Mart Stores spokeswoman Karen Burk said she had never heard of a such a melee during a sale.

"We are very disappointed this happened," Burk said. "We want her to come back as a shopper."

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!! I am thankful for all my friends and my family (in no particular order except for Tom who I put first on purpose):

Tom - My husband. I love you more than anything. I am so thankful that you came into my life when you did.

Patty - What can I say, Patty? You've saved my life. You came into my life just when I needed a friend and I'm so glad I've gotten a chance to know you and your family. You're the bright spot in my day!

Dave - Well, baby, I want to apologize for my monthly paranoia, but Frank & I love you very much and I'm glad I've gotten a chance to be your friend. I'm always here for you no matter what.

Tony - Bubby! I miss you so much. Keep updating so I can read what's going on with you & Clay. Love you!

Evan - Knowing that you still check up on me makes me happy. I miss talking to you every day, but I'll survive. You always know how to make me laugh and I love you for it. This month is 1 year since I've met you!

Will - You're crazy! I don't get a chance to talk to you that much anymore, but you can always email me, you know! I miss ya!

Gina - I know you read this page, girl! I'm thankful that we still keep in touch. You're the only one who's known me each decade in my life! No one can replace that. Happy Thanksgiving!

Mel - You taught me so much, Mellie. You taught me how to be a supervisor, how to take risks and how to enjoy them! I know I never would have moved to Texas if it wasn't for your prodding and I'm so glad I did! I'm inspired by how you handle the challenges in your life and I love you for it!

Mom - I can't even begin to tell everyone how thankful I am for my mom. She has always been there for me, making sure I'm on the right path. When I wandered she would guide me back to what was right for me. Mom, your strength during the last 2 years has amazed me. I am so proud of you.

To anyone I didn't single out - it's not that I'm not thankful for you - I am. It's just that I have to go make my Baked Potato Casserole so we can take it to Patty's today! I can't be late - they'll eat without me! Happy Thanksgiving!

Weekend Roundup :)

Friday: Went home & watched Melrose place. Fell asleep around Midnight.

Saturday: Woke up at 7am. Started doing laundry at 7:30am (continued doing laundry all day until 7:30pm). Hung out at home for awhile, then went to Target. Purchased a few things including new bathroom rugs for the upstairs bathroom. :) Signed up with The Sims Online again. All the people I used to know have quit (not surprised). You can get jobs for your sims now, it's kinda neat. Your sim goes to a property and has to work. My girl works in a robot factory. It's like a mini game. The pay is low cuz she hasn't been promoted yet, but it's something different at least. I don't think I'm going to play it for very long. It's just not the same without Evan there. Saturday night went to Tony Roma's for dinner and then to see the new Matrix. It was pretty good. I know why people are saying it isn't as good as the 2nd one - there isn't as much action spaced throughout the movie. There's a really good long action sequence that, and then almost nothing till the end. It's mostly talking & getting the rest of the story out. I still liked it. Patty has to go see it now so she can explain the ending to me lol.

Sunday: Woke up at 9:30. Sat around until 2:00 when we went to Sam's club. Then we sat around all day. :) Sitting around is nice.

Today I started my new schedule 9-6. (I was 10-7 before.) Previously I had to leave my house 45 minutes before the start of my shift to get to work on time. Today I left my house at 7:40am and got here at 9:05. It took me an hour and 25 minutes!!!!!! I hope it isn't like this every day & that today is a fluke. I'm not used to getting up so early and if I have to leave 90 minutes early every day I'm going to be mad. I guess it didn't help that I went through not 1, not 2, but FIVE school zones. *sigh*. Peachy-Keen.

Weekend Roundup:

Friday: I got to Philly around 4:30. Picked up the rental car just in time to hit Rush Hour Traffic on 95 South. :) Got to Harrisburg around 7:30. Mom & I went to Target and then to Denny's so I could get something to eat.

Saturday: Mom & I ran around to get my Pop-Pop a birthday present :) We left around 3:00 to go to West Chester for his 80th Birthday party. It was so fun. Almost all the family was there (except Muffett because her team was in a tournament that weekend). I love when everyone gets together & tells stories and like always happens, they did. We left around 8:00 and went back to Harrisburg.

Sunday: Mom tried to wake me up, but I fell back asleep. At 8:00 she came in & told me they (she and my brother) were leaving to go move my Aunt Laurie. I jumped up and told her to wait - I was going to go - got ready in about 10 minutes. Drove almost an hour to my aunt's house so we could move her up to Harrisburg to the Assisted Living facility (this is my Aunt Jeanne's "friend". She Jeanne died, Laurie can't afford to stay in the house and she needs help). Moved her all in until a little after 5. Sunday night I went to see my friend Mel & her kids. Was there till about 11:20. Got home & fell asleep around Midnight

Monday: Slept till around 9am. Got up & watched Melrose Place until 11. Drove to my mom's work since I was meeting her for lunch. Went to lunch & then went inside her work so I could meet the people she's worked with (she's worked at PSECU for about 17 years!). Went back to her house & left for the airport in Philly at 2pm.

My flight left Philly at 6:45pm. I watched Legally Blonde 2 on my DVD Player (it's a funny movie). Got to Memphis at 8:30 and had to wait an hour & a half till my flight to Dallas left. I was tired & Cranky. The Memphis airport SUCKS. It's old looking & smelled like a musty basement. AND Bottles of Diet Coke (20 oz.) are $1.99!!! What a ripoff.

Got back to Dallas at 11:30pm. By the time I got my luggage & got back to my car (after waiting for the bus) it was midnight. I got home around 12:30. Was in bed by 1:00 since I had to work at 10 this morning.

Tonight I have to do laundry so I have clean clothes for the rest of the week. I start my new schedule 9-6 tomorrow and I'm making up hours from being off yesterday so I don't get off till 9pm tonight. YUCK! But, it's my own doing.

I found out today that my sister-in-law (Tom's sister) is pregnant! I'm going to be a full-fledged aunt in June. YAY!

There's been some changes at work lately. I'm losing 6 members of my team because my department is no longer. We are now the Collections department, not Customer Service. 40 of our people moved to the repair department, thus 6 of my mentors went too. Now I'll only have 8 people. I'll be getting more, but I don't know if they'll be mentors or not.

Yesterday I had a panic attack (I think). My eyesight got weird, like there was a water drop on my eye, then I had no peripheral vision in my right eye. Of course by then I'm freaking out. Am I ok? Am I having a stroke? My eyesight was bad for about 30 minutes. Then I had a headache. Not a migraine or anything, just a headache. I obsessed about it all day. Then I left work early & came home to relax. I felt fine today.

The other night Tom & I purchased a DVR. It's a Tivo for Dish Network. Well, we didn't purchase it. It's free with a 2 year commitment. We've had Dish for 3 or 4 years now, and don't expect to change so it was a good deal for us. It should be here in about 3 more days. :) I can't wait! Now I can tell it to record Melrose place whenever I want. I can also rewind "live" tv in case I miss something, like I usually do.

I'm flying to PA tomorrow until Monday night. My Grandfather's 80th birthday is Monday and the family is having a party for him. So, I'm going. That means no updates until Monday or Tuesday.

Weekend Roundup:

1. Friday night I wasn't feeling well, so I went home & was in bed by 9:00. I think I fell asleep around 11.

2. Saturday you already know I got up early & got my car fixed. :) Then I went to Patty's to babysit her 2 kids. That was fun, but a drain :)

3. Sunday I hung out at home all day doing laundry. Sunday night we went to see "Elf" it was hilarious! The funniest movie I've seen in a long time. I recommend everyone goes to see it. I haven't laughed that much since I don't know when. I had tears in my eyes I was laughing so hard.

Saturday, November 08, 2003

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood! Well, not really - it's cold & rainy. BUT:

1. I got my car fixed!!! I took it to my friend, Clay's this morning. He used to own his own shop & has worked on cars since he was 16. 2 hours & 10.50 in parts later, my car is fixed and no longer stalls at redlights (or anywhere for that matter).

2. Amazon.com has Sims2 listed as coming out March 15. WOO-HOO

3. I found out that what I thought was the ending of the new Matrix isn't really the full ending, just a slim, very basic part, so I don't really know the full ending. Thank goodness something once again saved me from my stupidity. :)

Thursday, November 06, 2003

OMG! I am *so* stupid. I don't know why in the hell I do the things I do sometimes. I was on fark.com a few seconds ago reading what people had to say about the new Matrix movie. A guy posted with "SPOILER" in the first paragraph. Even said that he was going to give away some things and write "SPOILER" throughout the information.

***I READ IT ANYWAY!!! NOW I KNOW THE ENDING TO A MOVIE I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE!!!!***

Brings to mind one of the only songs I liked from 's
latest album. "I'm so stupid....stupider than stupid"

Sigh.

Yesterday was my friend, Patty's, birthday. We went out to a bar after work to celebrate. Happy Birthday, PATTY!

I have updated the dream section again. :) Enjoy.

I've been hearing for a few days now that Women have different heart attack warning signs than men. This morning on the radio they were talking about a study and they said that most women do not have chest pain associated with a heart attack. They said that out of over 500 women they studied 95% reported sleep problems up to a month before their heart attack. If you're a good sleeper and you find yourself not sleeping as well or having insomnia that could mean the sign of a heart problem! I would never have thought that.

I wonder how many women passed away because they were looking for signs of a heart attack that weren't there. How many women didn't realize they were having a heart attack? I hope I'm not ever one of them.

Weekend Roundup:

Friday night I went home & Played Sims Makin' Magic all night. It's really fun.

Saturday: Slept until 12:30, then hung out at home doing laundry. Went out for dinner (I don't remember where) and went to Nordstrom Rack where I found a $68 shirt for $20 and I got another shirt for $10.

Sunday: I went to Patty's house to watch the Cowboys game. I'm not a big football watcher, nor am I a big Cowboy's fan, but a few people from work were going, so I went. :) Then I went home & played Sims.

Another boring weekend. :) Matrix comes out tomorrow, but anyone who goes (Except Emily who took off work) before next week would be insane since it's gonna be CROWDED. I think I'll go next week or next weekend. Finding Nemo comes out today. I'm gonna stop at Wal-Mart on the way home to buy it. It's a great movie.

I'm on my way to update My Dreams section of my messageboard with 2 new dreams. One from Sunday night & one from Last night.
