This cold is kicking my butt. I spent all day yesterday sneezing. DayQuil didn't help. NyQuil didn't help me sleep last night & I've been sneezing my head off again today. I'm also burning up. It was storming here and that woke me up, so I think I'll take some more nyquil and go back to sleep.

Be sure to read my Atkins Journal (link in the links box). I had a really good week. :)

P.S. - I didn't lift my weights yesterday cuz of the NyQuil, so I'm going to do it tonight.

Yesterday I woke up with a very sore throat & the beginnings of a cough. I also had an eye issue that I've had before (November to be exact). First it looks like there's something obstructing my vision. Then, it spread to my other eye and the entire far right field of my vision was distorted. It did not make for easy driving. So, I left Patty a message that I was going to come in late - as soon as I was able to drive.

Around 12 I left for work (My eye problem cleared up shortly after I called her, but I wanted to make sure it wouldn't come back since my right eye still felt "gunky"). I got to work & sat down & just couldn't do it. The beginnings of the cold were kicking my butt, so I went home - 1 hour drive each way for nothing.

I took some NyQuil around 6:30 and fell asleep on the couch at 7:30. I woke up for 5 minutes or so - just in time to see who got fired on the Apprentice which I DVR'd. *sigh*

Tom woke me up at 12 when he came home & I went upstairs and fell back asleep. I decided this morning that I was going to go to work, but I was moving pretty slow. I weighed myself & I lost 2 lbs yesterday - Yay! Me. Anyway, at 9:05 I go outside to leave for work remembering I need gas. My car won't go out of Park. This has happened before & if I left it run for a few minutes to warm up, and push on the break petal really hard it will move. Nope, not this time. I sat in that damn car for 55 minutes trying to get it out of park! With sore hands and pissed off attitude I had to call Patty & tell her why I wasn't there yet. I feel like such a loser! As soon as Tom leaves for work, I'm going to take him and drop him off so I can go to work. I hope this isn't expensive to fix, but if I can't get it out of park, I'm going to have to have someone freaking tow it! I guess that's what happens with a 6 year old car with about 123k miles on it, but damn it!

I just watched the last Sex & the City. It was good. Of course I cried. :) I also did exercises today - yes, you read it right. I bought some 5 lb weights at Target and did 3 different arm exercises. It's a darn shame that 5 lb weights are a little too heavy for me, but I don't expect them to be for long. I haven't started any aerobic exercises yet because I'm still waiting on my exercise bike. Hopefully I'll have that soon. I plan to do the weight thing 3 times a week and then I can do the aerobic thing 2-3 times a week. That should help with the weight loss. Since I'm at 9 1/2 lbs lost right now my current goal is to hit 10 lbs. Then I'll make my goal 15 lbs --- little goals are best.

I found some inspirational pictures to hang up in my room. They were in Details magazine. Figures I couldn't find any in girl magazines, but I'm glad I found some.

Well, no anniversary trip for us. We're not nearly getting back what I had hoped. Oh well, maybe our anniversary celebration this year will consist of eating carbs - at least that's still cheap :)

Not much new to report this week. I worked my BUTT off every day at work. We have a new collections system and there are these supervisor worklists that cases get sent to. It could be promises to pay that are less than the minimum (which is 1/2 the balance due) or more than 7 days out that we have to approve or deny, or more often than not it's cases that are autorouted because they weren't called within 3 days of going into a certain state. In cases like that I just route them back, but you have to do it manually on each case & when there's over 100 it takes pretty much all day.

It may take less time if out of 5 supervisors, all 5 were doing it. However, it's just me, Dave & Greg. SO it takes up a lot of my time. In fact, that's all I did this week including yesterday when I worked.

We're going to get our taxes done today. If we get enough money back we are planning a 4 day trip for our anniversary which is April 10. It will be 5 years since we've gotten married. Remember that, Tony? Gina? I can't believe it's been 5 years already. Anyway, we're thinking about a few different places because we like choices:

Atlanta to visit Clay & Tony
Florida to visit Disneyworld
Las Vegas to visit the casinos
San Diego to visit seaworld

I'm sure it's a pipe dream - we'll probably only get like $500 back and 2 people can't really travel anywhere but Vegas on that. I would love to get like 2000 back, then we'd go to Ireland, but that ain't gonna happen :(.

Finally an update! My week in Tijuana was definitely different. It was like being in a whole other country (yes, corny I know! That line went through my head for a week!). Sunday 2/2 we were in San Diego & watched the Super Bowl at a bar in the Gaslamp(?) District. We saw boob-gate on a big screen tv. Then it was off to Mexico. The hotel was very nice and it was only that evening that I found out I had to be in the lobby every day at 6am. Getting up at 5am was ridiculous! I am not a morning person. The first night I was there I had a dream that there was a Mexican family of 3 living in my hotel room & they kept a donkey in the bathroom. I wasn't bothered at all about the family, just about the Donkey. Go figure.

The call center was nice, but very cold. It was a converted garage or something and the walls were cinderblock, but their cubes were very nice. I had a hard time with the peso/dollar conversion the first day, but then I got it.

Spent most of the time working & hanging out in the hotel room watching TV from San Diego. I ran out of Cigs on Tuesday, never thinking they wouldn't sell my brand I didn't bring any with me. Anyone of you who knows me knows I'm very particular about my brand. SO I had to smoke Marlboro lights with a listerine strip to make them bearable. The good news - Cigs are only $1.75 in Mexico, Cartons $13.00. I went to some very nice restaurants where it was very difficult to stay on Atkins. I tried, but I gained some weight back - 5 lbs of it.

I've been struggling to get back on Atkins every since. I've decided I need some inspiration, so I bought a Shape magazine tonight to hang pictures around my room. And I'm gonna hang an Anna Nicole picture - have you seen her? She looks great again! Just like in the old Guess? Ads.

I've been trying to convince Tom that I want an exercise bike and that I'm really going to use it. I finally had him accepting that I was going to get my way today. I haven't purchased one yet, but I'd like to have one within a week or two. I used to ride the bike at the gym when I went and it would be easy to do at home - I can bike & watch TV at the same time. Hm, maybe I'll make him go to Play It Again Sports & the pawn shop tomorrow - one of them is bound to have an exercise bike. I've *really* got to get back on Atkins if I want to be able to shop at stores in the mall (then I'll need a better job to PAY for the new clothes I can't afford). Tom has lost 10 1/2 lbs so far. I'm so proud of him.

Tony, what happened to your site? Happy Valentine's Day, ya'll! We had our first snow of the year last night. About 3 inches. Luckily it was mostly melted by this evening & it will be in the 50s for the next week. Now comes Tornado season *sigh*.
