Hell’s Kitchen? It’s the Apprentice on Acid.
I just watched the new Fox show - Hell's Kitchen which was on Monday night. It was *awesome*. You should all watch it. It's on Monday nights at 8 central.
P.S. - Bad Girls' Guide to... - just as bad the 2nd time around. Jenny McCarthy's laugh is irritating. And after the girl I liked wore a mohawk this week? You can forget it. I'm done. Britney & Cletus are getting boring to. It's all about "ooh, I was scared ya'll." "I put up a wall ya'll." "She was scared to love me." Whatever. We get the point idiots.
The Department of Homeland Security said today (at least I heard it today) that the ban should remain on cell phones in the cabins of airplanes because terrorists could use them to coordinate an attack. Right....because since it's against the law now, that means terrorists won't do it. Give me a break. It should remain banned because it will be annoying as hell to sit on a 3 1/2 hour flight & listen to Joe-Bob next to me talk to his wife nonstop.
Why is it that whenever I'm on Atkins and go to the grocery store I scrutinize the Ice Cream and Little Debbie's, just praying that I'll see they're low in carbs? Stupid wishful thinking!
Britney & Kevin Episode 2: Boring & made me want to puke with the smoochy-smoochy. A few times she sang on demand & maybe it was just me but she sounded HORRIBLE.
A new show was on afterwards: The Bad Girl's Guide to.... with Jenny McCarthy (which should be a tip off right there). It was...dare I say it....*worse* that the Britney & Cletus lovefest. The acting was horrible. The laugh track was irritating and it was just plain Stupid. One of her sidekicks who plays her advertising partner was pretty good, but the rest of the cast, including Ms. Playboy Bunny sucked.
It's official, Ikea opens in Frisco on Wednesday August 3!
I'm back on the bandwagon yet again - Atkins. I won't bore you with the details here, so if you're interested in reading the same repeated drivel :) then click on my Atkins Blog link to the right.
If you ever wanted to know what Hell feels like, without the rigamarole (I swear that's a made up word, if it's not, I have no clue how to spell it), come to Texas. It was 94 today. It's 11:23pm and still 83 outside. Tomorrow is going to be 94 and Sunday could be a record-breaking 97! Monday it's supposed to "cool off" to 90.
We're only in May so it should only get worse from here on out. Come on Fall!!!!
According to Tim LeTourneau, TS2: Nightlife is *finally* going to let your sims own & drive cars! They can use them to go downtown & go to work. Keep your fingers crossed that they don't have to take this feature out at the last minute like they did the weather in TS2. You can read about it
Here.
I promise I only watched it to see what a trainwreck it would be & true to form, it certainly was a trainwreck: Britney & Kevin Chaotic. In the one hour the show was on I learned that Britney is annoying as all get-out. I guess she thinks it's cute to make pig noses on camera and that fake laugh and the irritating voices. Oh my gawd, ya'll. *sigh*. And Kevin? What was with the bobblehead during his interview? He couldn't keep his damn head still! Yet when B was filming him his head was as still as ....well, it was still. So, that leads me to believe his wigger-dome is an act for the cameras. Yet I couldn't stop myself from watching. I'm sure her mom's proud of her smoking & having sex 3 times in one day. I know I would be. Am I going to watch it next week? Of course! This time I'll make pop-corn. Oh wait, I'll be back on Atkins next week, so I guess I'll enjoy some tasty cheese crisps.
I got my Live tickets today. Here's hoping I end up going. :)
OMG! Have I told you lately how much I love my Husband? He said I can get tickets to the Live show in Atlantic City on August 7th! Of course I don't know who's going to go with me, but I know *I'll* be there! Hopefully I won't have to sell them like I did my
Madonna Tickets last year (See 3rd entry from June 3).
August could turn out to be an *amazing* month: Live, new TS2 Expansion Pack (Hopefully), and we're going to see Ralphie May at the Improv (A comedian I like). Keep your fingers crossed, please. I need an awesome month filled with fun!
You can tell it's almost summer since the casual bloggers have all but stopped updating. But I will not be deterred! I don't have anything to really talk about though since I haven't done anything the past week or so other than sleep. Having to be at training at various times in various locations during the week is a beatdown. BUT, I actually got to work my schedule today which was refreshing. :)
I just read about this awesome new place called "Super Suppers". It's rather ironic that I found an article about it today since I drove by one the other day & wondered what the heck it was.
Turns out it's a place that you go to and "assemble" 12 dinners from their recipes. Then you bring those dinners home (each one has 4-6 servings) and heat them up, freeze them or whatever. I figured the price had to be astronomical, but for 12 dinners it's $185. You figure that works out to $15.42 a day, and then since in my family it would be dinner for 2, that is $7.71 for each of us to eat dinner each day! And I'm not talking about pizza. Their May menu is:
Honey Ginger Chicken Grill
Sirloin & Potato Bake
Chicken Cacciatore
Herb-Marinated Pork Chops
Seafood Divan
Heavenly Chicken
Ravioli with Italian Sauce
Sausage & Peppers with Rice
Beef & Cheddar Braided Bread
Sirloin Tacos
Beef & Broccoli Stir Fry
Since there may be some things you don't like, you can take out one entree & double-up on another. If the 12 is too much, they have a 6 meal plan that's $100. AND you can bring a friend & split the entrees into 2 pans while also splitting the cost. It seems like the perfect solution for busy families who don't have time to cook a great meal during the week (or who are too lazy, as is my case). Anyway, there are locations all over the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, and there are locations in other states as well (none in Atlanta or Alabama that I saw). Check out the page:
Super Suppers
Found this in a news article today and it amazed me:
"In the African nation of Ghana, people recognize the power of names and take the choice away from parents altogether. Children receive one of only seven boys' or girls' names, depending on the day of the week they were born."
You can read the entire article

Since Tony is claiming he's going to take his sabbatical, I'd like to remind him of this post from May 2004 after I'd been to Atlanta for the MindSpring reunion:
"The best part of my trip was seeing my best friend, Tony. He is like my other half - silly and contemplative & I love him! He wrote about our meeting in his blog, but then he posted that he wrote it when he was drunk. Hm.......I guess that doesn't lessen it's meaning at all, cuz I know he loves me :). Of course reading it made me cry. I certainly don't get to see him enough & if he doesn't use a week of his 2 month sabbatical to come see me, I'll have to make him SUFFER! Bubby, thanks for not repeating the 'it wasn't my cat' story! :)"
So, I'm still going to hold you to that! Tom's going to be out of town for a week in June, which would be perfect. Of course, if you'd prefer him to be here cuz I know he's silly & sexy (ahahahhahaha), that's ok too. I have 96 hours of vacation, 2 floating holidays & 4 personal days I get to use in the next 6 1/2 months!
Now on to something I haven't done for quite awhile: Cheddar X!

I'm still trying to get used to my new schedule. I couldn't fall asleep last night & when I did I had a horrible series of dreams. In the first one I was on a wheel of fortune type show with the cast of Dallas! Don't ask me why cuz I never watched that show. The 2nd one I was sitting on a bed and I was upset about something and my "husband" came to me. I was talking to him and some lady asked me if I got the mail because there was a test from a doctor in it. I said I knew it was there, but I didn't need to read it. She said "Yes, you do. It's not for you. You have to go get a test done." So I was upset about then. Then my "husband" came to me with a portrait he made of me & he gave me a big hug. Turns out he was Jeff Gordon. *sigh*. I don't like Nascar, and I especially don't like him so that was strange. I need to lay off the caffeine before bed.
Today (well, yesterday since it's after midnight), Tom & I went to the outlets in Allen. While I was frustrated I couldn't find anything in my size that I was willing to pay for (hello - $60 for a shirt is not my idea of outlet prices), Tom got some new shoes and boxers. Then we drove by the Ikea site in Frisco so we know where it is when they open. :) Since it's right down the road from the mall, we went to the mall. There I found 4 tee-shirts for $40. 2 at JCPenney & 2 at Sears. See, I will be able to dress down at work starting in June, but you can't wear tee-shirts with anything on them, so I need to get some plain colored & such. Since these were department store shirts & I'm a big girl, $10 each is a bargain - they're usually twice that apiece. So needless to day (but I'll say it anyway), I was happy. By the time we got home my feet were killing me & I was exhausted. I should have gone to bed hours ago, but I was playing TS2 until a few minutes ago. :)
I feel bad for the children of the Wendy's finger lady. I mean she has apparently raised them to have no idea of right & wrong. This lady has filed multiple lawsuits in the past against companies and has apparently won some. News came out today that her husband (who is not the father of her children) has been arrested on separate charges of identity theft, failure to pay child support and child abandonment and fraudulent use of official documents (read it
here). This lady (and it seems her husband) are career con artists and have passed that trait onto at least one of her children. He had this to say about the San Jose Police department who have arrested his mom: "They (police) are just making themselves look like idiots, and this is going to make the lawsuit a lot bigger,". Rrrriiiiigggghhhhhttt cuz everyone believes your mom really did find a finger in the Chili. A finger that has been confirmed by a medical examiner to *not* be consistent with something that was cooked at a couple hundred degrees. It's actually kind of pathetic that this 18-year-old thinks his mom is telling the truth when all the evidence points in the opposite direction. Wonder how many years it will be until he himself is arrested for trying to con a business out of money with a bogus lawsuit.
I wonder what my little "Suzanne" or "Suzette" commenter from last year would think about this news story from India:
"A rape victim has been asked by an Indian court to consider marrying her attacker to give him a lighter sentence.
The rapist, named Bhura, appeared to suggest his offer of marriage to the 22-year-old victim would be helpful to her.
He told the court in the capital New Delhi he was willing to wed her as 'no one would be ready to due to the stigma'.
The judge hearing the case ordered the victim, a nurse, and her parents to appear in court to answer to the request.
He said that the attacker's sentence would depend on their answer, and duly sentenced him to life after her response.
The victim said: 'I will not marry him. It is horrible, audacious. He should be given the severest punishment.
'He should be hanged so that such an horrendous
(sic) is not repeated with any other girl.'
Bhura raped the woman in September 2003 in a private room at a hospital in Delhi.
The hospital porter gouged her right eye and scarred the nurse's face. She has undergone surgery four times since the attack."
There's something unsettling & almost religious about reading people's secrets. Someone on MTS2 pointed me to the below blog. Apparently people send in postcards with a secret on them. It makes for very interesting reading. Don't read at work, you'll get sucked in, I promise you! Go there -
PostSecret
Friday night my going away party was at The Wild Turkey - our favorite little dive bar in Texas. :) There weren't a lot of people there (but the ones who mattered were), but I got *drunk*. 16 or 17 shots. My tab *alone* was $110. That doesn't include drinks others bought me. Good Gosh almighty.
Saturday I......hmmm....I don't remember...oh yeah, we went to the mall to spend Gift Cards that we've had for about 2 years now. Nothing's more disappointing than going shopping with free money & not finding anything to buy. That's what happened to me. Tom spent our Old Navy gift cards on some shirts, but I didn't find anything anywhere we went.
Today I spent a solid 6 hours working on the Dulce Walls site. I uploaded 23 wallpapers & 59 paintings! Site traffic is still pretty good. I'm proud of it.
No updates until at *least* Tuesday night or Wednesday. I have orientation in Dallas Monday & Tuesday so I'm staying at Patty's house. I think my hours are going to be 9-6 which I'm happy about. The later the better. :)
