Rod Roddy, the announcer on the Price is Right for the last 17 years died today. He was 66. The article I saw on Yahoo! said that he had Colon and Breast cancer. Poor guy. Rod Roddy was the next best thing on Price is Right to Bob Barker. Turns out he was from Ft. Worth, TX and went to TCU - my adopted favorite school.

Rod, may your soul rest in peace. Thanks for telling us about all those cool products on the Price is Right.

Weekend Roundup:

Friday night I don't think I did anything but sleep. :)

Saturday: Hung out at home and played the Sims. I downloaded this cool hospital for them. You click on the bed & you choose who you want to be a patient (from the residents of the neighborhood). Their health is assigned a certain percentage and you have to treat them until they are healthy so you can discharge them. It's a lot harder than it sounds. 2 people were sicker than they were when they got there. If you discharge them and they're not cured, you get fined like $3900. :( Saturday night we left around 6:30 to go to Tom's Halloween party. Got there a little after 5. I got to see the Lighthouse costume for the first time & it was hilarious. We ate dinner (Fajita bar) and I watched the World Series game -- the party was at Dave & Buster's. I had a shot so my head hurt for a few hours. Tom won most original costume, so he got $150. He gave $100 to the guy who made the costume, which was the right thing to do. :)

We left Dave & Buster's around 11:00 and got to Patty's at 11:30 for her party. Only a few people were still there. We were at Patty's till 1:30 and then drove home. I was up until around 3:00 (after changing our clock back )

Sunday: Woke up around 1:30. Went to Albertson's to deposit some checks and then ate dinner at Chili's. Did 1 load of laundry and hit the sack.

Boring weekend, but next weekend will be more fun since Sims Makin'Magic comes out Wednesday. :)

So I went to my doctor's appointment today. I know a lot of men read my journal and I don't want to gross you out with the non-gory but very-womanly details so if you want to read what happened, Click Here.

Tomorrow at 10:30 is my doctor's appointment. Please pray that my cyst isn't back. I had another spasm of back pain today. :( My first since I made the appointment a few weeks ago. I think I've narrowed it down to the week before & the week after my little ol' visitor. I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing.

I'm also going to ask him if he would recommend a C-section if by some off chance I ever decide to become pregnant. That would certainly weigh my decision. I figure since my surgery cut all those muscles they're really only 3 years old & therefore very delicate - perhaps not strong enough for regular childbirth. Lol. It sounded valid to me when I thought of it!

Weekend Roundup is on it's way, but first: Metacortex is the name of the company that Neo worked at in the first Matrix before he was "freed". The link in the last post isn't working anymore, though. I would suggest keeping up with "Down the Rabbit Hole" for the latest information.

Friday: Got to leave work early to clean. Took me over an hour to get home and my poor jalopy almost didn't make it. Once I was home I paid all our bills (always a nice feeling) and then made a half-hearted attempt at cleaning. Ed was on Craig Kilborn so I watched that - he did an acoustic rendition of Heaven and it was pretty nice.

Saturday: Did some laundry and ran around. Took Molly to Petsmart to get a bath & get her nails trimmed. She shit on the seat in Tom's truck & it was horrible!!!! So I cleaned that up and had to go to the car wash to shampoo & vaccuum the seat. :( Then Tom & I went and got the things for my Halloween costume. Went to Home Depot because we were going to pick up this cabinet for the upstairs bathroom so we had somewhere to store our towels. Well the cabinet must have weighed 200 lbs, so we decided not to get it. Instead we got one at Target. I spent most of Saturday night putting it together. Surfed the Sims Newsgroup & found out that some people have downloaded Makin' Magic. I wanted it so some guy sent me directions on how to get it. Messed with that for about 3 hours & still couldn't figure it out so I gave up & decided to just wait till the 29th when it's released (I was going to buy it anyway, so don't gang up on me for piracy).

Sunday: Work up around 11:30 and piddled around for awhile. Went Grocery shopping & found out that the Albertson's by our house isn't open 24 hours anymore. That was disappointing to me. They do, however, how have self-serve checkouts which rocks! Played the Sims for a bit and then Madden 2004. My team played their 1st regular season game. We won 111-0. 2nd game we only won 41-10, but it was still a win.

Since my brain just semi-kicked in: Isn't metacortechs the name of the company that Neo worked at in the first Matrix? If you go to this link you'll see there's a "Thomas Anderson" listed, but it says he's been transferred with no forwarding information. Very interesting indeed.

Yesterday was Boss' Day. My team is so wonderful - when I got to work they had my desk decorated & I had a beautiful bouquet of flowers. and also a beautiful mug-ful of roses. They got me the required balloon and also a very nice stationery set. :) They had a sign on my cube that said "the boss of the year sits here" and that was my absolute favorite thing!

Dave & Patty & I went to dinner at Joe's Crab Shack last night. I noticed while there that the Yankees game was on & they were losing 5-0 in the 5th. Their pitcher was HOT.

We went back to Dave's and around 10:25 I asked Patty to check espn.com to see who won. Well, by then it was in the 9th & tied 5-5. We put the game on, but I was so tired - Patty & I left around 10:30. I was listening to the game in my car and was almost home when Aaron Boone hit the home run that won the Yankees the game. I pity the people beside me on the highway because I was cheering & clapping like a lunatic!

Get to work today and I'm bored to pieces. Fridays are always slow. I did some warnings (which I absolutely hate doing) and pretty much just hung out. The one cool thing is that I created an Access DB for my team's attendance. I just enter occurrences into a form each day & then I have query set up for each individual. I run the query and it shows me the total number of occurrences, so I can quickly tell if they should be on a warning or not. Patty said she loved it & we should roll it out to everyone!!!! Go me, Go me, Go me.

Rick is coming tomorrow to fix the toilet upstairs which is leaking & the one downstairs that you have to hold the handle on. So, Patty let me leave early to clean. Needless to say I haven't done much cleaning, but I have done some.

So apparently there's this huge fact finding mission going on on the internet -- seems the Wachowski Brothers (directors of the Matrix trilogy) have created all these fake websites. It's very strange & makes my brain hurt, but here's a link that tells you what little everyone seems to know about it: Down the Rabbit Hole

I would scroll all the way towards the bottom until you find the posts from 10/1/03. Then start reading. It's just amazing what's going on out there.

Last night on the way home from Dave's I saw a police chase on 183. A Lincoln Navigator was being chased by 4 police cars and then a few miles down the road 2 more police cars were coming to join the chase. It wasn't a 30 mile an hour chase like California has, if I had to estimate the Navigator was going around 70-75. It was the opposite way as me, so I wasn't in any danger.

Then I got home & heard the new Britney/Madonna Song - it was pretty good. I really liked the music. I didn't understand all the words because they say them really fast & I couldn't keep up in my old age! First I had my Justin Timberlake obsession, then I started watching Nick & Jessica and now Britney????? Geez - My inner child must be getting younger.

I was watching Reloaded last night and one thing the Oracle said has struck me - "You've already made the choice. Now it's up to you to understand why." Seems like a plain ol' line when I type it, but since reading that Sylvia Browne book that says we all choose what we're going to go through before we get here. Our life is basically pre-planned. However, we have set goals to achieve and there are reasons for the choices we've made. Almost the exact same thing the Oracle said. Lol - this is the only website where you'll see a correlation made between Reloaded & a Psychic. :)

Happy Day!

OMG!!! I found a link to this picture on Uncle Bob's website and it is just wrong! I had to share. :) Ugly Dress

Work was a huge let-down today. Not nearly busy as yesterday. At lunch Dave & I went to Best Buy (I knew I'd win!) and I bought Reloaded for $14.99. I can't wait to watch it!! Got back from lunch to find out that something's wrong with the new form I have my team using in Access. Ok - frustration, but I can handle it.

Um, no. Upon further investigation the form is MAJORLY F***ed. I don't know why, I don't know how, but it's BROKEN. *sigh*.

After spending an hour or so on it with the help of our resident self-titled Guru, Lee, it's still broken.

*ARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH*

Spent some time AIMing with Will today, but while thinking of a good nickname for him, I got busy & then he signed off. Well, Will, I've decided on your nickname: Diva. :) I think it fits you being the actor and all. Plus, when you Aim me, I can sing "Diva, Las Vegas" to you. lol

Nick & Jessica update on the messageboard as well as a new Bunny Patrol post since the stupid bunny picture in the corner didn't do anything.

I was super busy at work yesterday, but it was a nice kind of busy. I got to finally straighten up my desk which had looked like a tornado had gone through it. I entered about 103 escalates from Excelebration into an Access Database I created, I entered about 78 attendance occurrences for my team into the Attendance DB I created. I didn't even go to lunch! But like I said, it was nice. Today I'm kind of bored since I don't have much to do like yesterday. :)

Matrix Reloaded comes out today. I heard Best Buy has it for $15 so hopefully I can convince Dave to go check it out at lunch.

Got home around 8 last night and watched my movies. I liked both of them. The out-takes at the end of Daddy Day Care were cute - the little kid kept messing up his lines & it was funny (in a cute way, not in a you're a stupid kid way). I really liked the In-Laws.

Michael Douglas is a good actor, but if the lighting isn't right, his head looks like it belongs to a 120 year old - his eyes look all sunken with dark circles around them. Then on close-ups he has hardly any wrinkles and his skin is stretched almost as tight at Joan Rivers' skin. Wonder if they share the same plastic surgeon?

Weekend Roundup:

Friday Night: Went to Dave's & hung out until around 12:30 or so. Pretty much I just played on the computer. Landon is a guitar player, so he played Lightning Crashes by Live and we all sang it - that was the highlight of my dorkified night. :)

Saturday: Got up early so Tom & I could go to the Ranch which is about 2 hours away. VarTec was having a fall festival there. I wanted to leave around 9, but didn't even wake up till 9:30 (I hit snooze for 3 hours!). We were ready to go around 10:30. We stopped at Weinerschnitzel on the way & Tom dripped Chili from his Chili dog on his Shirt. SO, we had to stop at Wal-Mart to get him a new one. After that we started arguing. Not serious arguing, but I'm tired & bitchy arguing. Dave called to see what we were doing and asked if we wanted to come over, so we ditched the ranch & went to Dave's instead. We were there for about 5 hours - we played Madden 2004 for PS2 the entire time & I really started to like it. We ate dinner at Fuddrucker's and then we went to this store called The Great Indoors. They had some really cool stuff, but they are very expensive, so we didn't buy anything.

After that we went to GameStop to look for Madden 2004 because I just *had* to have it. The first GS we went to didn't have it, so we went to one closer to our house & they only had a new copy, but we bought it anyway. After that (around 8:30pm by now) we went to Marble Slab Creamery & I got cheescake ice cream with Cherries in it. It was very, very good. Then we went home & played football the rest of the night.

Sunday: Woke up around 11:30 and started playing Madden 2004. Got bored of that & started playing the Sims. Alternated between the two all day. I mowed the front yard and discovered 2 ant hills :( Then I went to Nordstrom Rack to spend my $50 gift card that I got for being Supervisor of the Month in August and I found nothing. I was very disappointed. Well, I did find some Ralph Lauren jeans for $20 but I didn't buy them since I don't wear jeans that much anymore. Then I went to TJ Maxx - found nothing there either. Went to Lowe's to buy Fire Ant killer Played Ant Exterminator when I got home and then went inside to play more games - because I have no guilt about killing thousands of ants. Sunday night we went to Sheridan's Frozen Custard stand and got some custard, then we went to Blockbuster & got Daddy Day Care and The In-Laws (I'm a *huge* Albert Brooks fan). My Madden Team (49ers of course) is 3-0 in the Preseason cuz I'm awesome!

I can't wait for tomorrow. I'm going to go at lunch & buy Reloaded on DVD. Then on November 4 Finding Nemo comes out which I'm buying and then on the 5th the last Matrix is released to theaters. We're trying to decide if we want to see it on IMAX or regular since this is the first time in history that a movie will be released simultaneously in both formats.

Over 2 days last week I spent a total of 9 hours trying to create an attendance form in Access so I could just enter occurrences & then run a report. I had an idea of what I wanted it to look like & it was very pretty in my head. The only problem was I couldn't get it to work and I was getting VERY pissed off about it. When I was at Dave's Friday night I played with it & had a working form within 15 minutes. It was a triumph, but also pissed me off because I'd been trying to get it to work for 9 hours! Come into work today & within 10 minutes I have a working form!!!!!! Unfortunately, I left the list of occurrences I need to enter at home, so now I have to shelf that until tomorrow. *sigh* the trials of my life. :)

I just took this quiz from Will's website and found out the following:

HASH(0x8732454)
September

Which month are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

Which is really quite fitting since I was born in September! The only thing sucks about the 10 year olds who make these quizzes are that they can't spell. Not only was September spelled wrong, but so was beginnings. *sigh*. Do I have to go on my poor spelling skills rant again? :)

Is anyone surprised that California elected Arnold? I think we all saw that coming. I wonder if he'll make any movies while governor. That would probably be a first, wouldn't it?

Tonight's Nick & Jessica episode wasn't very good. I can't think of one completely stupid thing she did. It figures - the first night my mom actually watched it. Now she'll think I made up all the stupid things. :) I did see that there is a 10 episode 2nd season coming. Hopefully Jessica will stay stupid - that's the only reason I watch it. The "season finale" is the 21st.

I put a Nick & Jessica section up on my message-board in case anyone (all 2 of you) want to talk about the show.

I made an appointment with Dr. O'Neal today (my female doctor). I had surgery 2 1/2 years ago for those who don't know and I'm afraid that I'm getting another cyst. Hopefully it's just my new disease of the week in my head, but lately I will get excruciating back pain out of nowhere. It will last for maybe 5 minutes and then go away. It's only been happening once every few days, but I remember the night before I went to the emergency room that I tossed & turned all night because I was in so much pain mostly in my back. I used to lay on the floor at EarthLink to make it feel better. So, before it gets worse I'm going to go get it looked at.

The appointment-setter at his office was a bitch. I asked where they were located since I know they moved. She was very, very snotty and told me they moved almost 2 years ago. I said that the last appointment I had was in February of last year right before they moved. I knew I had an appt. last year, but she kept saying 2 years so it was freaking me out because I thought I was insane and didn't go last year. Anyway - she gave me the information (wow - they moved across the street to Baylor Hospital) and snottily told me they moved in March 2002. Um, duh bitch! I said you moved right after my last appointment which means that I was right, so why were you giving me shit? Geez - you can't even make a stupid doctor's appointment anymore without be harrassed. Stupid witch.

In case you're wondering what the bunny picture is doing in the corner, I'm going to post my bunny picture everytime I'm on "bunny patrol". I haven't talked to Evan forever and I'm totally not liking that! I'm glad he has a life & a man & likes that game he plays online, but GOOD LORD! I didn't mean for him to stop talking to me! :(

YAY! I got my picture to show up. I had the html tag as "imgsrc" when it should have been "img src" with a space in between.

Monday, October 06, 2003

Ugh. I can't get the picture to show up in my post & I'm too tired to fool with the HTML. Here's a stupid link. Please click on it - Ed is yummy. Yummy Ed.

P.S. - I want the Scion xB, not the xA and I *definitely* want the light package for the inside. Maybe I can be cool for the first time in my life.

P.S.S - The donation button on the left is stupid, I know, but I put it back up anyway. I want a reading with Sylvia Browne. It's $700, but I figure if I start saving now that in about 10 years I can make that happen! And oh yeah, here's a new picture of Ed I found on Fansoflive.com - it's scrumptious!

The Weekend Roundup:

Friday - played the Sims until around 2am and then slept peacefully until 11:30 Saturday morning :)

Saturday - Went to Sam's Club, did laundry and played Enter the Matrix on PS2. I finally got past the part I'd been stuck on for 2 months. :)

Sunday - Tom slept most of the day, then around 5pm we headed out to the Great State Fair of Texas! We never do much at the fair except eat since Tom's such a wuss he won't go on any of the rides. I saw an *AWESOME* car that's coming out in Feb '04 that I want to get. It's only like 14k. It's called a Scion & you can see it here. I tripped and almost fell, but saved myself. Tom didn't even see it, but I'm sure I was a school-boy's story about his weekend at the fair. It's always fun to laugh at the fat girl who almost fell and then got so embarrassed that she started crying. We got home around 9:30 and I played Enter the Matrix again. This time I *finished* the game. The only game I've ever finished in my life. Even though the infinite health cheat was on, that doesn't matter ;) Then I played Home Run Derby in MLB 2004 with Tom. I beat him.

All in all, it was a good weekend. Too short as usual, but still fun. Next Saturday we're going to the VarTec ranch for the Fall Festival. It will probably be a long drive for nothing, but we're going anyway.

Oh yeah, TCU won 27-0. TCU is my adopted favorite team since it's near my house. Go Horned Frogs!!!!!!!!!!

Friday, October 03, 2003

Oh yeah, I'm AWESOME! For the 2nd time in the 5 months I've been on the floor, I was named Supervisor of the Month. *do the happy dance* *do the happy dance* :)

I'm reading this book right now by that psychic, Sylvia Browne. It's called "The Book of Dreams", or something like that. It's really, really good.

I've always been scared of dying, like most of us are, but I take it to the extreme sometimes. When I was little I would sit & think about what it would be like when I die and then I would cry. Over my birthday weekend this year, I obsessed about how old I'd be when I died. I can't explain why I do it, but I just do.

So anyway, in this book she was talking about astral visits in dreams (the word astral makes it sound hokey, I know). She said that sometimes we go visit the people we know on the other side. It could be for various reasons, but a lot of the times, it's to let us know that they are ok and that we in turn are going to be ok. I had a dream once that I walked into a dark restaurant. It was closed and the walls were a beautiful dark wood. At a table in the back (with a light on above it) sat my dad. He was sitting there smoking, waiting for me. We talked for a long time (I don't remember about what), and the next morning I felt a lot better about him dying, knowing that he was ok where he is now.

She also said that our subconcious mind is our spiritual mind. It's been with us through all our trips on earth and it is our "eternal" mind which will be with us forever. She said that there was this one woman who dreamed about a house. She knew the house and the people who lived there were her family, although in her waking life she'd never seen them or this house before. It was a recurring dream that made her feel happy. She knew the house was in England. About 10 years after she started having this dream, her husband took her to England (she'd never been before). They were driving and she started giving him directions without even realizing it. They ended up at the exact house that was in her dreams. She didn't know if she wanted to knock on the door because the people at the house now would probably think she was crazy. But her husband convinced her to do it. She knocked on the door & the lady that opened the door screamed and said "you're the ghost we've been seeing". Isn't that crazy?

I totally believe in all that and I don't care if you think I'm nuts because I said so. I've only had one encounter with what I'd call a ghost before & it was really good. She made me feel safe. I was at a crappy, crappy hotel in New Jersey in 2001 with 2 friends of mine. There was a hole in the window that looked like a bullet hole to me and there was a red stain on the carpet that I swore was blood. Anyway, that night when we were trying to fall asleep I heard a party upstairs. I could tell there were a lot of people and I started to worry what would happen if it got out of control. Would we be safe in this crappy hotel? I remember seeing a lady next to my bed in colonial dress telling me that we would be ok - nothing was going to happen that night. I know I was awake because I could still hear the music from the party & I actually checked to make sure my eyes were open. After she told me that she was gone & I fell asleep & slept extremely well the rest of the evening.

Tom thinks I'm crazy for that, but I truly believe there was someone in the room with us that night.

Renew now to insure you receive the 2003 holiday gift, and get entered into the contest automatically!

My new Guilty Pleasure is watching Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica on MTV. She is *so* stupid it's a wonder she can function. I've never really cared for either of these people, but I was bored last weekend & caught 2 shows and it's actually quite funny. I feel bad for him because she is a major whiner. I guess that's because she's only 23, I don't know. You really should catch it on the weekend or the new ones on Tuesdays at 9:30 CT because it's hilarious.

Nothing new at work or home, still busy as ever. Tom's work Halloween party is 10/25 and I just found out I have to dress up so that should be interesting. Our unofficial work party (for the supes) is that night too, so I'm torn about which one to go to. I think I'm favoring Tom's since I couldn't go to their Christmas party last year because I was in Omaha for EarthLink (teaching those damn people how to do the job I soon wouldn't have anymore which I didn't know at the time, but I'm not bitter). But Patty's would be so much more fun. I think ya'll should vote on which one I should go to. That will take the decision off me. :)
