Oh yeah, I'm AWESOME! For the 2nd time in the 5 months I've been on the floor, I was named Supervisor of the Month. *do the happy dance* *do the happy dance* :)

I'm reading this book right now by that psychic, Sylvia Browne. It's called "The Book of Dreams", or something like that. It's really, really good.

I've always been scared of dying, like most of us are, but I take it to the extreme sometimes. When I was little I would sit & think about what it would be like when I die and then I would cry. Over my birthday weekend this year, I obsessed about how old I'd be when I died. I can't explain why I do it, but I just do.

So anyway, in this book she was talking about astral visits in dreams (the word astral makes it sound hokey, I know). She said that sometimes we go visit the people we know on the other side. It could be for various reasons, but a lot of the times, it's to let us know that they are ok and that we in turn are going to be ok. I had a dream once that I walked into a dark restaurant. It was closed and the walls were a beautiful dark wood. At a table in the back (with a light on above it) sat my dad. He was sitting there smoking, waiting for me. We talked for a long time (I don't remember about what), and the next morning I felt a lot better about him dying, knowing that he was ok where he is now.

She also said that our subconcious mind is our spiritual mind. It's been with us through all our trips on earth and it is our "eternal" mind which will be with us forever. She said that there was this one woman who dreamed about a house. She knew the house and the people who lived there were her family, although in her waking life she'd never seen them or this house before. It was a recurring dream that made her feel happy. She knew the house was in England. About 10 years after she started having this dream, her husband took her to England (she'd never been before). They were driving and she started giving him directions without even realizing it. They ended up at the exact house that was in her dreams. She didn't know if she wanted to knock on the door because the people at the house now would probably think she was crazy. But her husband convinced her to do it. She knocked on the door & the lady that opened the door screamed and said "you're the ghost we've been seeing". Isn't that crazy?

I totally believe in all that and I don't care if you think I'm nuts because I said so. I've only had one encounter with what I'd call a ghost before & it was really good. She made me feel safe. I was at a crappy, crappy hotel in New Jersey in 2001 with 2 friends of mine. There was a hole in the window that looked like a bullet hole to me and there was a red stain on the carpet that I swore was blood. Anyway, that night when we were trying to fall asleep I heard a party upstairs. I could tell there were a lot of people and I started to worry what would happen if it got out of control. Would we be safe in this crappy hotel? I remember seeing a lady next to my bed in colonial dress telling me that we would be ok - nothing was going to happen that night. I know I was awake because I could still hear the music from the party & I actually checked to make sure my eyes were open. After she told me that she was gone & I fell asleep & slept extremely well the rest of the evening.

Tom thinks I'm crazy for that, but I truly believe there was someone in the room with us that night.
