Tell me, don't these 3 paragraphs say the same thing but in a different way?

Secretary of State Colin Powell is defending his son, Michael Powell, after shock jock Howard Stern told the Federal Communications chairman that he got his job because of nepotism.

Powell the elder has come to his son's defense after Stern said the Federal Communications Commission chairman got the job because of his famous father.

Michael Powell was surprised by a caller into a San Francisco radio show he was appearing on Tuesday who said, "Your father got you your job."

They are all included in an article here.

It's like the journalist was trying to figure out which way it sounded better & never fixed it up.
